GreenBox has been selected for the “Well Being · Start-Up” Programme

The Housing Authority held the "Entrepreneur KEY Day" event at Domain Mall in Yau Tong, where the shortlisted participants were announced and a symbolic key handover ceremony for the shop units took place.

The Housing Authority launched the “Well Being · Start-Up” Programme, offering rent-free retail spaces in its malls to young entrepreneurs for a period of seven months. Permanent Secretary for Housing and Director of Housing, Ms. Rosanna Law, expressed her hope that Housing Authority malls can become a dream stage for young people to launch their businesses. She encouraged the youth by saying: "Right now, it may be a smaller stage at Domain, but if you can grow and shine, one day you might make it to the Hong Kong Coliseum—or even the Kai Tak Sports Park in the future." She also joked, "The happiest thing is seeing young people—seeing young people makes me feel younger too. That’s why both the Secretary and I dressed younger today," hoping to absorb some of the youthful energy.

Housing Authority Entrepreneur Scheme receives 180 applications – 17 rent-free shop premises approved
The “Well Being · Start-Up” Programme targets young people aged 35 or below. According to the Housing Authority, around 180 applications were received, and 17 units were ultimately selected. From this month until April next year, the selected entrepreneurs can operate rent-free shops in Housing Authority malls, with additional support for shop renovation and marketing.

As one of the selected participants, GreenBox has been allocated space to operate pop-up stores in various Housing Authority malls. Through this opportunity, we aim to better understand the public’s attitudes and habits regarding eco-friendly tableware across different districts. Our mission is to promote the use of reusable silicone food containers as an alternative to disposable plastic takeout boxes. Looking ahead, we plan to expand our container cleaning services, explore models of social circular economy, and create job opportunities by hiring from marginalized communities.

The “Well Being · Start-Up” Programme has selected seven HA shopping centres: Domain, Kai Chuen Shopping Centre, Hoi Lai Shopping Centre, Shui Chuen O Plaza, Kwai Chung Shopping Centre, Lei Muk Shue Shopping Centre, and Queen’s Hill Shopping Centre. These malls provide rent-free retail spaces for young entrepreneurs, with an operating period of seven months, from this month through April next year.
